Salty: that is not part of a still. But I agree, it's not art either. (the photographs on the other hand...) Maybe I'll post some pictures of my still soon.

Also, I like your series of posts from Arizona. I would comment directly on your blog but it's a pain to register.

That is a counter flow wort chiller for making beer. It is to cool the wort after the boil before pitching yeast to start the fermentation.
